About this Role Under close supervision of the Staff Services Manager I, the Student Assistant will provide support to the Enhanced Provider Payments Unit, working in a learning capacity, on elements of the Public Hospital Outpatient Services Supplemental Reimbursement (AB 915) Program and Graduate Medical Education Payments to Designated Public Hospitals (GME) Program. The AB 915 Program is a Certified Public Expenditure program that provides supplemental reimbursement to public acute care hospitals for outpatient fee‑for‑service services provided to Medi‑Cal beneficiaries. The GME Program provides payments to Designated Public Hospitals in recognition of the Medi‑Cal managed care share of direct and indirect GME costs. The student assistant will assist in supplemental payment program and health program policy research, and process payments and recoup payments when necessary.

Telework Information and Salary Information This position is currently eligible for telework up to three days per week and is required to report in person a minimum of two days per week. The amount of telework is at the discretion of the Department and is subject to change consistent with DHCS’ Telework Program and Government Code sections 14200 – 14203. Telework is available to California residents, and proof of residency may be required.

Business travel may be required, and reimbursement considers an employee’s designated office and residence subject to regulations and bargaining unit contract provisions. All commute expenses to the reporting location will be the responsibility of the selected candidate.

Personal Leave Program (PLP) 2025 agreement – Effective July 1, 2025, the California Department of Human Resources (CalHR) implemented the temporary Personal Leave Program 2025 (PLP 2025).
