Job Summary Position: Painter – Paint Shop Operations (Entry Level, Full‑time)

Location: Norwich, NY (2‑Shift)

Pay: $21.60 per hour plus 10% shift differential. Eligible for an annual discretionary bonus. Position closes 02/28/26.

Basic Qualifications

High School Diploma or GED equivalency

Minimum 1 year experience in paint shop operations

Basic proficiency with hand tools and measuring instruments (verniers, micrometers, calipers, scales, etc.)

Competent use of basic computer applications (Word, Excel, Outlook)

Fundamental understanding of blueprint and process sheet interpretation

Basic math skills (decimal conversions, metric units)

Must pass a visual acuity exam

Must pass an FAA drug screen

FAA certification required

Essential Functions & Responsibilities

Paint products and specialized parts (DDSI parts, bellows, NPD, etc.)

Perform complex error repairs on materials or surfaces

Ensure materials are current by monitoring expiration dates

Interact with internal and external stakeholders (Planners, Engineers, auditors)

Work on prototypes or first‑time builds

Participate in and support team initiatives; cross‑train as needed

Accurately complete written and electronic labor tracking documentation

Assist in inspection of painted/coated parts and understand paint room processes

Report problems to appropriate resources and maintain effective communication with the team

Help engineer and improve layout procedures and process sheets

Perform daily preventative maintenance and inspections for compliance

Maintain equipment operation through timely adjustments

Proactively seek efficiency and quality improvements

Work comfortably around chemicals; wear and follow PPE and safety procedures

Perform other duties as required by the department

Desired Qualifications

Experience with paints and coatings and knowledge of basic chemical safety

Experience in a self‑directed teamwork environment

3–5 years manufacturing experience

Ability to work with limited supervision; strong teamwork and communication skills

Leadership and problem‑solving abilities; quick learner

Proficient with Microsoft applications for data analysis (Word, Excel, Oracle)

Familiarity with 5S and lean manufacturing concepts

Physical Demands

Continuous hand and finger repetition

Bending, stooping, twisting, crouching, squatting, and occasional climbing

Continuous sitting; lifting up to 20 lb; pushing/pulling up to 22 lb
