Special Education Teacher - Middle/High School
Salary: $56,160 per year with a $5,000 sign‑on bonus for new hires.
As a classroom leader, you will establish a culture of learning and respect and nurture individual relationships with each student in a therapeutic and supportive team environment.
Duties This individual will work with an educational and clinical team to develop and deliver educational programming for students with significant emotional, behavioral, academic, and mental health needs. Duties include implementing CARE principles, delivering assessment tools, creating lesson plans, writing IEPs, coordinating with the clinical team, supervising educational technicians, involvement in TCI safety restraints, BHP, ISP, IEP tracking, and various other responsibilities in a day‑treatment special education setting.
Qualifications Bachelor’s degree and Maine State certification as Teacher of Exceptional Students (282) or Teacher of Students with Severe Intellectual and Associated Impairments (286), or eligibility for conditional certification as a special education teacher.
