Responsibilities
Perform vehicle inspections, maintain cleanliness of bus interiors, fuel buses, log trip counts and assist disabled passengers.
Be at work each scheduled day, on time and in uniform.
Possess a valid state‑issued driver’s license to be carried on duty and maintain an acceptable DMV record.
Courteously assist customers and direct them to the Facility Manager when necessary.
Report accidents, suspected violations, safety hazards or any unusual occurrence to the Facility Manager.
Communicate debris, water, oil spills, etc. to the garage office.
Substitute for cashiers or valets when authorized.
Have thorough knowledge of the garage and the surrounding major streets, landmarks and freeways.
Assist customers with luggage and other traveling items (e.g., operating shuttle buses at an airport).
Assist the Facility Manager with other duties as needed.
Qualifications
Education/Experience Required:
Less than high school education or one month of related experience or an equivalent combination.
License Requirement:
Valid state driver’s license with a current address and an acceptable driving record.
DOT Medical Card:
A Medical Examiner’s Certificate (DOT Medical Card) is required.
Availability to Work:
May need to work 3rd shift and/or weekends depending on location hiring needs.
Language Skills:
Ability to read, comprehend, write simple correspondence, and present information in one‑on‑one customer interactions.
Mathematical Skills:
Ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide two‑digit and larger numbers, using units of American money.
Appearance:
Keep a neat, clean appearance and be in complete uniform at all times.
Physical Demands:
Regularly stand, walk, use hands to handle cash and equipment; occasionally sit, climb, balance, and lift up to 75 pounds.
Salary Range $17.22 per hour (+ tips). Eligible to earn tips in addition to the posted hourly rate.
