Principal Duties and Responsibilities
Create a warm, safe, and developmentally appropriate classroom environment
Plan and implement hands‑on, play‑based instruction aligned with early childhood standards
Support students’ growth in social skills, early literacy, numeracy, and independence
Integrate Catholic values and faith formation into daily instruction and routines
Communicate effectively with families regarding student progress and classroom activities
Collaborate with colleagues and administration to support student success
Maintain classroom organization, routines, and appropriate behavior expectations
Collaborates with instructional para in the classroom
Requirements Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
Knowledge of early childhood development and best instructional practices
Strong classroom management and organizational skills
Ability to create engaging, age‑appropriate lessons
Effective communication and interpersonal skills
Ability to work collaboratively with staff, students, and families
Willingness to support and participate in the Catholic mission and faith life of the school
Education and Experience
Valid teaching certification (or ability to obtain)
Experience working with preschool or Pre‑K–age children preferred but not required
