Job Summary The Recreation Assistant (Facilities Operator) NF-02 will assist in preparing and operating facilities for a variety of special events at Fort Irwin’s Special Events Department.

Key Responsibilities

Arrange furniture and equipment and set up and dismantle decorations for events of various sizes.

Assist in conducting events as necessary.

Work in multiple facilities depending on customer demand or program activities.

Issue and receive recreational equipment, collect applicable fees, create daily bank deposits and safeguard funds.

Pre‑check equipment, explain use, monitor proper usage, and maintain cleanliness of facilities.

Coordinate with program staff to ensure equipment availability and may be required to drive a motor vehicle.

Qualifications

Demonstrated ability to perform the duties described above.

Valid driver’s license.

Requirements

Meet federal eligibility/background requirements; one‑year probationary period may apply.

Completion of E‑Verify and a Tier 1 background investigation.

Must work nights, weekends, and holidays; no regular schedule guaranteed; as‑needed basis.
