Cardiac Monitor Tech - Nights Full Time | Hourly | Night shift (7pm – 7am) | Location: John Peter Smith Hospital, 1500 S. Main Street, Fort Worth, TX 76104

Job Summary The Cardiac Monitor Technician I‑IV performs monitoring of heart rhythm patterns to detect, record and report normal and abnormal heart rhythm patterns.

Essential Job Functions & Accountabilities

Interprets and documents appropriate rhythms, interval measurements and rates, and maintains an accurate logbook of ECG rhythm strips.

Maintains equipment and performs environmental maintenance, reports equipment needing repair and maintenance to the appropriate department.

Maintains stock and inventory of remote cardiac monitoring supplies at the central monitoring station.

Participates in the performance improvement process.

Recognizes, records, and promptly reports any ECG artifact, poor ECG signal quality, leads off, and other abnormalities to appropriate nursing staff.

Runs legible ECG rhythm strips routinely and with any change in patient’s rhythm.

Updates all necessary information with changes in patient room assignment.

Verifies all alarm limits are set and in audible mode.

Monitors the cardiac rhythm of patients and notifies appropriate nursing staff when a patient has an ECG rhythm change.

Qualifications Required Qualifications:

High school graduate, GED or equivalent.

Cardiac Monitor Tech I: 0 – 1.99 years of relevant experience.

Cardiac Monitor Tech II: 2 – 4.99 years of relevant experience.

Cardiac Monitor Tech III: 5 – 9.99 years of relevant experience.

Cardiac Monitor Tech IV: 10+ years of relevant experience.

Preferred Qualifications:

6 months of relevant experience.
