Job Summary:

The Trauma Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) provides professional level skills required in clinical social work, affording direct and indirect services to clients and working with a multidisciplinary team in evaluation and treatment planning for individuals, families and groups in the outpatient setting. This position provides various modalities of evidence-based counseling for patients, serves as role model for other staff, establishes priorities and goals for self and peers, ensures that services are rendered in a prompt, efficient and effective manner and actively supports the policies and procedures of JPS and the trauma program.

Essential Job Functions & Accountabilities:

Maintains clinical practice within JPS Health Network utilizing various counseling modalities for clients individually and in groups, psychosocial assessments, and in collaboration with the health team members develops and implements treatment plans for patients.

Maintains ongoing statistical data and patient care records in a timely, accurate and accountable manner.

Serves as a subject matter expert for input on behavioral health related issues across JPS. Acts as a consultant to other JPS personnel and to other agencies and groups as assigned.

Collaborates with medical leadership for program planning, educational, supervisory, and administrative activities, including standardization of evidence-based therapies to improve efficiencies and evidence-based practices to improve patient care and outcomes.

In collaboration with the Executive Director and Manager, develops quality metrics for the JPS behavioral health therapists and prepares reports for presentation at appropriate venues.

Demonstrates competence to perform assigned patient care responsibilities in a manner that meets the age-specific and developmental needs of patients served by the department.

Appropriately adapts assigned patient assessment, treatment and/or care methods to accommodate the unique physical, cultural, and age-specific and other developmental needs of each patient served.

Supports the JPS mission, vision, and values. Demonstrates established customer service behaviors and standards. Treats all customers with courtesy, dignity, respect and professionalism.

Demonstrates knowledge and application of Screening, Brief Intervention and Referral to Treatment (SBIRT) and develops goals or plans with patients/families in coordination with medical recommendations.

Demonstrates knowledge and application of Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD) screening and develops goals or plans with patients/families in coordination with medical recommendations.

Provides counseling which assists patients and their families in crisis to mobilize their support systems.

Documents all interactions with patients in the electronic health record.

Participates in and facilitates team conferences on behalf of patients.

Prepares statistical reports and special studies to support the SBIRT and PTSD programs.

Qualifications:

Required Qualifications:

Master’s Degree in Social Work from an accredited school.

Minimum of three years’ experience in social work and demonstrated level of clinical social work skills indicative of the ability to engage in self-regulated practice as required.

State licensure as a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) by the Texas State Board of Social Worker Examiners.

Certified in one of the following: Certified Clinical Trauma Professional (CCTP) or Certified Clinical Trauma Specialist – Individual from the International Trauma Training Institute or The Certified Trauma Services Specialist (CTSS) or The Certified Trauma Treatment Specialist (CTTS) from the Association of Traumatic Stress Specialist within 12 months of employment.

Preferred Qualifications:

Trauma program experience.

Bilingual (read, write and/or speak) Spanish preferred.
