Position Summary The general purpose of this position is to coordinate and actively participate in the portioning and racking of the products we produce, facilitating efficient operation of formulation sausage machines and line workers while maintaining quality standards and complying with organization policies and applicable laws.
Responsibilities
Assure minimum and maximum weight and length restrictions are observed.
Maintain product quality, craftsmanship, and methods to achieve economical manufacturing costs and general line administration.
Possess the ability to bend, twist, lift, and use good hand dexterity.
Takes responsibility in the work area to produce a safe and quality food product.
Report all food safety and quality related problems to supervisor, manager, or QA department for immediate action.
Additional duties as management may deem necessary from time to time.
Qualifications
High school diploma or GED; 6 months to 1 year of related experience and/or training, or equivalent combination.
Ability to read and interpret safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
Ability to write routine reports and correspondence and to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees.
Basic math skills: add, subtract, multiply, and divide using units of American currency, weight, volume, and distance.
Apply common sense to follow detailed written or oral instructions.
Ability to handle simple problems involving a few variables.
Physical Requirements Regularly required to stand, walk, reach, talk, hear, taste, and smell. Occasionally stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. Frequently lift and/or move more than 100 pounds and occasionally up to 100 pounds. Required vision abilities include close, distance, color, peripheral, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.
Work Environment Exposure to moving mechanical parts, wet, humid, refrigerated, or freezer conditions, loud noise, extreme cold, and vibration. Company provides rubber gloves, metal gloves, cooler coats, sleeve protectors, aprons, bump caps, hair nets, beard nets, and ear plugs.
