$5000 Sign-On Bonus for experienced (ASEs or Heavy Vehicle Certifications) mechanics! Mechanic responsibilities and Specific Duties Evidence of a "safety first" attitude Must have good computer skills to operate and competently function within a CMMS. Create and complete work orders, enter parts used and time allocated to repairs. Must have ability to understand and interpret schematics. Customer-focused attitude, with high level of professionalism Detail-oriented, resourceful, diligent and able to operate independently with limited supervision (completing assigned work accurately and in a timely manner) Strong time management and organizational skills Sound judgement; Good problem-solving and analytical skills (troubleshoot technical issues, communicate and document various solutions to non-technical parties) Must be flexible and work in a 24/7 environment. Five (5) years progressive heavy equipment maintenance preferred ASE Transit Certificate/Heavy Vehicle Certification required for A and B Tech's Two (2) years technical degree or equivalent experience preferred Additional proven training from mechanical/technical schools, OEM courses or seminars desirable High school diploma or GED and valid North Carolina driver’s license with CDL endorsement is required Ability to obtain CDL Permit if a not in possession of a CDL Experience with diagnostic computer equipment and software required (Cummins Insite, Volvo/Mac, etc.) Must have the ability to learn the design, maintenance, and adjustments of Battery Electric Bus (BEB) systems, ADA equipment, air conditioning, brakes, chassis, cooling system, engine, interior/exterior lighting, gauges and controls, safety equipment, fire suppression system and sensitive edges, tires and transmissions Hands-on experience in electrical and mechanical troubleshooting various vehicle systems Soldiers: if you are Army Reserve, Army National Guard or transitioning fromActive Duty be sure to register today with the Army PaYS Program at
