Position Description Immediately hiring a Permanent Full Time Experienced Mid-Level Diesel Technician to support our Truck Fleet at Ryder in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma.

Hourly Pay: $25.92 per hour

Certification Bonus: $100 for each new ASE Certification up to $700

Quarterly Bonus: up to $500 every quarter

Schedule: Monday–Friday, Weekends OFF

First Shift Hours: 7:00 am – 3:30 pm

Requirements

High school diploma or equivalent preferred

Vocational or Technical Certification / Post‑secondary degree or Technical Certifications preferred

Basic tools required

Demonstrated aptitude and applied experience in mechanical repair of automotive gas or diesel engines including:

Routine preventative maintenance: oil changes, brake and tire work

Two (2) years or more of combined classroom training and work experience

Valid Commercial Driver License (CDL) CLASS A preferred

Must be able to obtain CDL within 6 months after hire

Pass a Ryder Drug Test

Pass a DOT physical

Pass a Ryder road test

Pass a Ryder Background and Motor vehicle check including drug and alcohol verification from previous employers for the last 3 years

Important Note Some positions require additional screening that may include employment and education verification, motor vehicle records check, a road test, and/or customer‑specific background requirements.

Responsibilities

Perform vehicle maintenance and repair duties

Perform standard vehicle maintenance and component inspections

Perform preventive maintenance

Diagnose standard mechanical and electronic problems using diagnostic computer when applicable

Identify root cause of basic failures/conditions and perform repairs as required

Replace defective components as instructed

Perform facility maintenance duties

Interact with customers/drivers to determine nature of complaint when assigned a task

Utilize key functions of Shop Management System and electronic documentation available

Work in accordance with all federal, provincial and corporate compliance guidelines (i.e., safety, DOT, MOT)

Perform other support duties as required to support operations, including but not limited to Service Island support
