Diesel Mechanic Technician – Ryder Supply Chain Solutions
Immediately hiring a Permanent Full‑Time Experienced Mid‑Level Diesel Technician to support our Truck Fleet at Ryder in Obetz, Ohio.
Position Description
Hourly Pay: $23.00 per hour
Certification Bonus: $100 for each new ASE Certification up to $700
Quarterly Bonus: up to $500 every quarter (four times per year)
Sign‑On Bonus: $1,250 at 30 days and $1,250 at 90 days
Schedule: Sunday–Thursday
Hours: First Shift 7:00 am – 3:30 pm

Requirements
High school diploma or equivalent (preferred)
Vocational or technical certification, or post‑secondary degree (preferred)
Basic mechanical tool proficiency
Experience in mechanical repair of automotive gas or diesel engines: routine preventative maintenance, oil changes, brake and tire work (required)
Two (2) or more years of classroom training and work experience (preferred)
Valid Commercial Driver License (CDL) Class A (preferred)
Must obtain CDL within 6 months of hire; pass Ryder drug test, DOT physical, road test, and background check
Responsibilities
Perform vehicle maintenance and repair duties
Conduct standard vehicle and component inspections and repairs
Execute preventive maintenance procedures
Diagnose mechanical and electronic problems using diagnostic computers
Identify root causes of failures and perform required repairs
Replace defective components as instructed
Perform facility maintenance duties
Interact with customers/drivers to determine nature of complaints
Use Shop Management System and electronic documentation
Work in compliance with all federal, provincial, and corporate safety guidelines
Execute additional support duties as required, including Service Island support
