Job Summary

The purpose of this position is to assist with the installation, maintenance, diagnoses, and repair of problems associated with fire alarm systems, pneumatic, electrical and electronic controls, a local area network computer data distribution system serving 250 personal computers, a satellite television distribution system serving 233 television sets, a public address system serving 500 speakers, all of which are distributed over 200 acres and encompass 500,000 square feet of enclosed building area.

Qualifications Documented maintenance and/or repair experience with fire alarm systems, computers, TV’s, and/or PA systems.

Documented work related experience in a commercial setting (ex: school, hospital, institutional).

Documented work experience with fire alarm systems.

Physical Requirements

Exerting up to 50 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 20 pounds of force frequently, and/or up to 10 pounds of force constantly to move objects. This position is designated as mandatory and must report or stay over during adverse weather events.

Shift Hours

1st shift (7:30 am – 4:00 pm), Monday – Friday, work schedule may vary and include evening, weekend, holiday, and emergency hours. This position is also a mandatory on‑call position.

Applicants seeking National Guard Preference must attach an NGB 23A (RPAS), along with the state application if they are a current member of the NC National Guard in good standing.

Applicants who are former members of either the NC Army National Guard or the NC Air National Guard, with honorable discharge and six years of creditable service, must attach a copy of the DD 256 or NGB 22, along with the state application.
