Position Overview The

Fleet Mechanic

is responsible for maintaining and repairing a wide range of company vehicles and heavy equipment, including hydro-vac trucks, vacuum units, roll-offs, and support vehicles. This role plays a critical part in ensuring the safety, reliability, and uptime of Vecta’s fleet.

You’ll diagnose issues, perform preventative maintenance, and support operational readiness across divisions, keeping our crews moving safely and efficiently.

Key Responsibilities

Perform inspections, diagnostics, and repairs on diesel engines, hydraulics, and electrical systems.

Conduct preventive maintenance to ensure compliance with DOT and company standards.

Track and document all maintenance and repairs through the fleet management system.

Support field operations with emergency repairs when necessary.

Maintain clean, organized, and safe work areas in compliance with Vecta’s safety policies.

Assist with equipment upgrades, rebuilds, and fleet standardization projects.

Collaborate with Fleet Manager to identify and resolve recurring mechanical issues.

Requirements

Minimum 5 years of experience as a diesel, heavy equipment, fleet mechanic, Hydro-Vacs or Hydro-Pumps.

Strong understanding of hydraulic and electrical systems.

Ability to read schematics and technical manuals.

Valid Class B CDL (or ability to obtain) preferred.

Must be able to work independently and in the field as needed.
