Maintenance Tech - Byron Center/3rd shift
Our growing company is seeking to hire a
Maintenance Technician
for our 3rd shift location in Byron Center, MI. The role includes routine and emergency mechanical and electrical maintenance on all machines and equipment, diagnosing problems, and maintaining or repairing machinery as needed.

Work week is Sun night through Fri morning (10pm to 6am)
Currently working overtime, during the week, Sat, and some Sun
Responsibilities
Diagnoses situation or problem, plans and schedules preventive maintenance, and makes repairs or improvements to machines/equipment.
Performs basic electrical repairs and installs, removes, fabricates, alters, and rebuilds machines/equipment to meet code requirements.
Plans, lays out, and performs bench and machine operations for tools, fixtures, gauges, attachments, and mechanisms to ensure proper fit, alignment, calibration, and completion.
Operates equipment to ensure effectiveness of repairs and safe operation.
Reads and interprets blueprints, schematics, and machine manuals to perform repairs.
Fabricates parts and machine equipment without design, from given, or own design, using lathe, mill, drill press, welder, and brake.
Operates testing equipment, hand tools, torches, welders, and precision measuring equipment.
Assists other maintenance members and serves as a resource to engineering and management.
Provides project leadership on major installations or revisions of machines and equipment.
Operates PC to create work requests, obtain parts, and retrieve historical work order information.
Contacts suppliers or manufacturers about part information, repairs, improvements, and shipping instructions.
Maintains current knowledge and skills in all maintenance/repair crafts and basic electronics/electrical repair.
Maintains user knowledge of all maintenance/repair equipment and test instruments.
Climbs ladders, stoops, crouches, twists, kneels, crawls, and walks to access repair areas while carrying or moving tools and parts, including lifting materials over 60 lbs.
Operates maintenance equipment, including company vehicles, material handling equipment, and manlifts to heights of 60 feet.
Completes appropriate paperwork and maintains documentation.
Ensures safety and cleanliness of equipment, department, plant, and worksite.
Coordinates with other maintenance personnel across shifts to ensure job completion.
Qualifications
Journeyman or equivalent preferred.
Strong electrical background preferred; 480V and control wiring.
Complete understanding of robotic cells and stamping presses.
Complete set of trade tools.
Valid powered industrial truck operator permit and state driver's license.
