Job Summary The Quality Control Technician supports ODCA’s mission and WE CARE values by applying inspection and test methods to determine product conformance, optimizing manufacturing operations, and ensuring products meet customer requirements.
Job Duties
Performs analytical tests such as particle size distribution, acid essay, titrations, pH, and wavelength scans on products and raw materials.
Interprets test results, evaluates processes, and communicates with processing, warehouse, and packaging teammates to maintain product compliance.
Communicates with production leadership to investigate and resolve problems.
Prepares and manages correspondence, reports, and documents in a legible manner.
Maintains equipment, ensuring functionality and proper calibration; submits work requests and calibration results as required by QMS.
Assists QC Analytical Lab Technicians as needed.
Supports ISO, FAMI-QS, HACCP, and plant‑dependent requirements.
Uses the document control system to retrieve and update documents.
Observes all safety rules, regulations, and precautions.
Audits external and internal processes for conformance to SOPs, PWIs, and other standards.
Maintains a clean and organized work area.
Supports and participates in continuous improvement activities such as 8D, Kaizen, Visual @ Glance, 5S, shift reviews, and process mapping.
Other duties as assigned.
Preferred Qualifications
Education:
High school diploma or post‑secondary education.
Licensure/Certification:
None specified.
Work Experience:
Minimum two years in quality control.
Understanding of process controls and SPC rules.
Ability to read, comprehend, and act on product specifications, SOPs, PWIs, AIQ processes, and similar documents.
Training:
Meet assessment requirements for this position.
Pass basic computer literacy assessment.
Obtain CQIA certification within six months of hire.
Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:
Strong problem identification and resolution skills.
Effective verbal and written communication.
Collaboration with teammates, suppliers, customers, and other ODCA members.
Capable of working with minimal supervision.
Understanding of all safety requirements.
Physical ability to lift up to 50 pounds, bend, reach, twist, stoop, walk, and climb stairs; work in dusty, hot, cold, and humid environments; communicate via radio and phone; stand for shift duration; participate in cleanup up to full shift length; meet all physical requirements.
