Position:

Engineering Technician VI

Overview: ITC Defense is seeking to hire an Engineering Technician VI in support of U.S. Navy / Air Force CYP (Child Youth Programs) CCTV Lifecycle Support Service program.

Responsibilities:

Provide preventive and remedial maintenance services on IP-based CCTV systems.

Diagnose and correct equipment malfunctions and failures.

Perform function tests and analysis on various systems.

Perform preventative maintenance and cleaning on all CCTV system components.

Provide on‑site system training and technical support as needed.

Update web‑based maintenance management system and provide tracking of government equipment.

Prepare designs and specifications for complex equipment or systems.

Plan and execute approaches to solve technical and design problems.

Recommend and implement new design techniques to improve system performance.

Coordinate with contract personnel and other stakeholders to resolve design issues.

Design and conduct experiments and tests to validate preliminary designs.

Advise equipment users on redesigning solutions for operational deficiencies.

Oversee fabrication of pilot models and develop test procedures and specialized test equipment.

Independently manage projects or contribute as a technical expert.

Supervise and mentor junior technicians, ensuring completed work meets project objectives.

Other duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications:

Experience Requirement:

Twelve (12) years of relevant experience with a qualifying degree or formal technical training, or fourteen (14) years of practical experience with a High School diploma/GED, including work in design, preparation, and modification of engineering documents and drawings.

Education Requirement:

Associate’s degree in engineering, physics, computer science, information security, or another technical field

Formal electronics training from a technical school or a Class A/B military electronics or communications program

Completion of a four‑year Electronics Apprentice Program

High School diploma or GED

Proven experience preparing designs and specifications for complex equipment or systems, such as building heating systems or electronic components for instrumentation.

Experience planning approaches to solve design problems and recommending innovative design techniques.

Skilled in resolving design issues with contract personnel and ensuring compatibility across system components.

Experience designing and coordinating test setups and experiments, including using untried or untested measurement techniques.

Experience advising users on redesigns to address unique operational deficiencies.

Experience developing equipment or systems with challenging performance requirements or unusual combinations of techniques/components.

Experience planning and conducting fabrication of pilot models, including determining test procedures and designing special test equipment.

Proven ability to independently manage projects of broad scope or serve as a subject‑matter expert in specialized areas of engineering.

Experience supervising or training lower‑level technicians.

Ability to provide proof of U.S. Citizenship and pass a background investigation.

Ability to travel to CONUS and OCONUS locations (about 75% travel is to be expected).

Preferred Qualifications:

Solid history of functioning in a team environment, being a self‑starter, working independently with limited instruction, and meeting critical demands.

Excellent interpersonal, communication, and organizational skills, with the ability to work in a fast‑paced environment with attention to detail.

Standard MS Office software product knowledge (Word, Outlook, Excel, and PowerPoint).

Special consideration for candidates with OEM factory training from Genetec, Axis and/or Cisco Switches.

Special consideration for candidates with a Security+ certification.
