Position Details Permanent full‑time mid‑level Diesel Technician, supporting Ryder Truck Fleet in Savannah, Georgia. Immediately hiring.
Compensation
Hourly Pay: $27.50 per hour
Certification Bonus: $100 per new ASE certification (up to $700)
Quarterly Bonus: up to $500 each quarter
Sign‑On Bonus: $1,250 at 30 days and $1,250 at 90 days
Schedule: Monday – Friday
Hours: Second Shift 3:00 pm – 11:30 pm

Requirements / Qualifications
High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
Vocational or technical certification or post‑secondary degree preferred.
Basic tools required.
Demonstrated aptitude and experience in mechanical repair of automotive gas or diesel engines, including routine preventative maintenance (oil changes, brake and tire work).
Two (2) years or more of combined classroom training and work experience (preferred).
Valid Commercial Driver License (CDL) Class A preferred.
Ability to obtain a CDL within 6 months after hire.
Must pass Ryder drug test, DOT physical, road test, and background/motor‑vehicle check.
Responsibilities
Perform vehicle maintenance and repair duties, including standard maintenance and component inspection/repair.
Execute preventive maintenance tasks.
Diagnose mechanical and electronic problems using diagnostic computer.
Identify root causes of failures and perform necessary repairs.
Replace defective components as instructed.
Perform facility maintenance duties.
Interact with customers/drivers to determine nature of complaints.
Utilize shop management system and electronic documentation.
Adhere to federal, provincial, and corporate compliance guidelines (safety, DOT, MOT).
Support operations with service island duties or other tasks as required.
