Position Description Immediately hiring a Permanent Full Time Experienced Mid‑Level Diesel Technician to support our Truck Fleet at Ryder in Columbus, Ohio.

Pay & Benefits

Hourly Pay: $27.50 per hour.

Certification Bonus: $100 for each new ASE certification up to $700.

Quarterly Bonus: Up to $500 every quarter.

Sign On Bonus: $1,250 at 30 days and $1,250 at 90 days.

Schedule: Tuesday–Saturday; Second Shift Tuesday–Friday, 2:00 pm–10:30 pm and Saturday 7:00 am–3:30 pm.

Annual merit pay increases.

Responsibilities

Perform vehicle maintenance and repair duties, including preventive maintenance and component inspections.

Diagnose mechanical and electronic problems using diagnostic computers.

Identify root causes of failures and perform required repairs.

Replace defective components as instructed.

Perform facility maintenance duties.

Interact with customers/drivers to determine nature of complaints.

Utilize shop management system and electronic documentation.

Work in accordance with federal, provincial, and corporate compliance guidelines (e.g., safety, DOT, MOT).

Perform other support duties as required, including Service Island support.

Requirements

High school diploma or equivalent preferred.

Vocational or technical certification / post‑secondary degree or technical certifications preferred.

Basic tools required.

Demonstrated aptitude and experience in mechanical repair of automotive gas or diesel engines, including preventive maintenance (oil changes, brake, tire work).

At least 2 years of classroom training and/or work experience in required experience.

Valid Commercial Driver License (CDL) Class A preferred.

Must be able to obtain a CDL within 6 months after hire.

Pass a Ryder drug test, DOT physical, Ryder road test, and Ryder background and motor vehicle check (including drug and alcohol verification from previous employers for the last 3 years).
