HVAC Refrigeration Service Technician

Responsibilities
Diagnose and repair HVAC/R systems, including electrical, mechanical, and electronic components
Perform maintenance and emergency service as needed, including after‑hours on‑call rotations
Accurately document all service details using company‑provided iPads
Maintain company vehicle, tools, and parts inventory to the highest standards
Communicate clearly with customers and dispatch to ensure smooth scheduling and service delivery
Identify additional service opportunities and share them with customers
Participate in company‑provided training opportunities
Coordinate travel to job sites in the service area and work with dispatcher to ensure schedules are maintained and delays are properly communicated to customers
Be available to work nights or weekends, on a rotating basis, to service emergency needs of our customers
Document details of services and parts provided to customers electronically through iPad applications
Diagnose diverse service issues, obtain replacement parts, calibrate systems to manufacturer recommendations, and explain the need for and value of recommended solutions
Identify and report potential opportunities for additional business (new unit/system, PM contracts, and additional services)
Participate in company‑provided training opportunities
Qualifications
High school diploma or GED
Minimum of 2 years recent experience as an HVAC/R field technician
EPA certification and a valid driver’s license
Strong diagnostic and troubleshooting skills
Ability to read and interpret schematics and work plans
Basic comfort with mobile apps and technology
A strong work ethic, positive attitude, and commitment to quality
Willingness to work overtime, weekends, or holidays when needed
Physical Demands
Must be able to safely work at heights using ladders up to 28‑32 feet and operate equipment within manufacturer weight limits
Must be able to lift, carry, and maneuver tools and equipment, including extension ladders, up to 100 lbs
Must be able to bend, kneel, crouch, crawl, reach into confined spaces, and perform twisting, pushing, and pulling tasks
Must maintain physical stamina and endurance for repetitive tasks and extended activity
Must be able to stand, sit, walk, and climb ladders throughout the day
Must use vision, hearing, and verbal communication continuously
Must operate work‑related equipment such as iPads, cell phones, and computers
Must be able to travel to customer sites as needed
Required to occasionally work in an office environment
Required to follow all applicable safety procedures
