Job Overview
LHH is seeking an experienced Legal Assistant/Paralegal for a respected Nashville law firm. This role supports both litigation and transactional attorneys, with a strong preference for candidates with civil defense litigation experience. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, organized, proactive, and enjoys staying busy in a fast-paced environment.
Responsibilities
Draft, format, and file litigation documents; manage deadlines and case calendars.
Assist with discovery, document organization, deposition prep, and trial prep.
Support attorneys with transactional documents, due diligence, and basic research.
Maintain accurate electronic and physical files; manage correspondence and scheduling.
Coordinate with courts, clients, and opposing counsel.
Assist with billing processes as the firm transitions toward paralegal billable work.
Qualifications
3+ years of legal assistant or paralegal experience, preferably in civil defense litigation.
Strong knowledge of court rules and filing procedures.
Excellent attention to detail, organization, and communication skills.
Proficiency with legal software and Microsoft Office.
Paralegal background or certificate is a plus.
