Job Description:

• The Phlebotomist I (PSR I) is the first point of contact for patients visiting for routine health checks or other medical testing.
• This role involves drawing quality blood samples, preparing specimens for laboratory testing, and maintaining accurate records while providing excellent patient care.
• The PSR I demonstrates leadership behaviors, ensures process excellence, and handles patient information with confidentiality and accuracy.

Requirement/Must Have:

• Ability to provide quality, error-free work in a fast-paced environment.
• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
• Excellent phlebotomy skills, including pediatric and geriatric collections.
• Flexible schedule to cover weekends, holidays, on-call, and overtime.

Experience:

• Minimum 6 months phlebotomy experience required. One or more years preferred.
• Customer service experience in retail or service environment preferred.
• Keyboard/data entry experience required.

Responsibilities:

• Perform both forensic and clinical specimen collection and processing duties with confidence and accuracy.
• Maintain a safe and professional work environment.
• Accurately enter results and maintain records of testing.
• Demonstrate effective communication and promote a positive image to patients, clients, employees, and the public.
• Follow established procedures for patient verification, specimen handling, and safety standards.

Skills:

• Phlebotomy (venipuncture) including pediatric and geriatric patients.
• Specimen collection, labeling, and preparation for laboratory testing.
• Customer service and patient communication.
• Data entry and documentation.

Qualification And Education:

• High school diploma or equivalent REQUIRED.
• Medical training such as medical assistant or paramedic preferred.
