Job Description:
- The Patient Services Representative II (PSR II) represents the face of the company to patients visiting for routine care or critical health decisions.
- The PSR II is responsible for drawing quality blood samples, preparing specimens for laboratory testing, and ensuring all procedures are performed safely, accurately, and in compliance with established guidelines.
- This role requires direct patient interaction, strong customer focus, and the ability to work across multiple locations as business needs dictate.
- Ability to provide quality, error-free work in a fast-paced environment.
- Ability to work independently with minimal on-site supervision.
- Excellent phlebotomy skills, including pediatric and geriatric collections.
- Flexibility to work weekends, holidays, on-call, and overtime as needed.
- Ability to make decisions based on established procedures and exercise good judgment.
- Reliable transportation and ability to travel to multiple locations as required.
- Capability to manage multiple priorities in a high-volume setting.
- 1 3 years of phlebotomy experience required, including pediatric, geriatric, and capillary collections.
- Experience in a patient service center environment preferred.
- Customer service experience in a retail or service environment strongly preferred.
- Keyboard and data entry experience required.
- Perform daily activities accurately and on time under the direction of the area supervisor.
- Maintain a safe, clean, and professional environment.
- Perform forensic and clinical specimen collection and processing following established procedures.
- Verify patient demographic information and obtain patient signature post-venipuncture to confirm correct specimen labeling.
- Maintain required records and documentation accurately.
- Promote a positive image of the organization to patients, clients, employees, and the public.
- Phlebotomy and specimen handling.
- Patient communication and customer service.
- Attention to detail and documentation accuracy.
- Ability to adapt to changing locations and schedules.
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Medical assistant or paramedic training preferred.
- Phlebotomy certification preferred.
