Overview
Telhio Credit Union, founded in 1934, is one of the largest credit unions in Ohio serving over 70,000 member‑owners throughout central and southwest Ohio. The Compensation and Benefits Manager will lead the design, implementation, and management of total rewards programs that align with the organization’s strategic objectives.
Job Summary The Compensation and Benefits Manager will design, implement, and manage total rewards programs, ensuring competitiveness and compliance while working closely with senior leadership and vendors to enhance employee experience.
Essential Functions
Global Compensation Administration & Management
Manage base pay and variable pay program design, analysis, and administration.
Review compensation levels relative to market and recommend changes.
Lead job evaluations and communicate results.
Ensure compliance with the Fair Labor Standards Act for U.S.‑based positions.
Plan, design, and administer annual and semiannual compensation planning processes.
Partner with the CHRO, HR Business Partners, and leaders on organizational structure changes.
Manage the compensation system, vendor, and external compensation survey subscriptions.
Benefits Management
Communicate benefits, retirement, and wellness programs and ensure statutory compliance.
Oversee administration of annual filings, audits, leave of absence programs, and employee support.
Partner with external benefits consultants or brokers to manage medical, dental, vision, and life insurance programs.
Develop specifications for new plans or modify existing plans to maintain competitiveness.
Human Resources Information Systems (HRIS) Management
Oversee payroll administration and time‑keeping systems.
Manage design, end‑user experience, reporting, and analytics for the entire HRIS system.
Ensure best‑practice workflows and system dependencies across the people‑technology stack.
Ensure compliance with global, federal, state, and local data protection regulations.
Partner with teams to administer compensation programs, performance reviews, benefits, open enrollment, payroll, and reporting within the HRIS system.
Lead and participate in special projects or other duties as needed.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Communications, Business, or equivalent discipline (Required).
Master’s degree in Business, Human Resources, Industrial or Labor Relations, or Organizational Psychology (Preferred).
7–9 years of experience in Compensation & Benefits (Required).
Strong executive presence and ability to present at all organizational levels.
Excellent analytical, strategic thinking, and data‑analysis skills.
Proven track record of developing and implementing Total Rewards that drive business outcomes.
Experience navigating a fast‑paced environment and managing multiple priorities.
Excellent leadership, interpersonal, and communication skills.
Deep knowledge of HR policies, employment laws, and regulations.
Background check pass – credit, drug, criminal, and bondability.
