Experience
2+ years of purchasing/inventory control experience in manufacturing environment
Job Duties
Follows policies and procedures for the purchase of goods and services
Complete PO’s for outside operations with oversight from purchasing manager
Negotiates pricing agreements; follow supplier contractual guidelines
Selects vendors on the basis of price, capability, and past performance following departmental guidelines
Inspect Condition of material upon arrival for damage, correct quantities
Makes certain that purchasing documents with specifications are completed properly and the terms and conditions of the purchase are appropriate
Maintain accurate records in Visual ERP, including price histories and any problems in doing business with particular vendors
Works closely with managers scheduling production
Prepare and paste labels on shipments accurately, handle outgoing shipments by checking them physically and packaging to ensure no damage to parts will occur
Solicit RFQ’s for business unit supplies, raw material, and outside operations, small tools as required
Optimize min/max levels of consumables inventory
Arrange transportation goods to and from Suppliers as required
Accurately Issue material to shop employees as required & maintain shop supply/tool crib area
Assist in the completion of cycle counting, and end of the month inventory (counting, adjustments)
Work independently and also as a team member
Other duties as assigned
Requirements
2+ years of buyer/inventory experience in manufacturing environment
High School diploma or equivalent
Experience implementing cost reductions
Ability to multi-task in a fast paced environment
Knowledge of Visual ERP system preferred
Working Conditions
Monday to Friday, 8:00 am to 4:30 pm
Some overtime may be necessary
Regular attendance is mandatory and must follow all work safety programs
The essential duties job may require the ability to stoop; to reach; to stand, to walk and sit for extended periods of time; to push and/or pull objects weighing up to 30 pounds; to lift and carry objects weighing up to 15 pounds; to use finger dexterity to operate a computer and other office equipment and hand strength to grasp files and other objects; to perceive the attributes of objects by touch; to hear and verbally exchange ideas and information with the public, staff and others on the phone and in the office. Frequently being on foot, bending, stooping, squatting, kneeling, climb stairs and kneeling and/or crouch to retrieve files and other items. Writing to complete reports and service requests.
