Responsibilities
Represent clients involved in various transportation related incidents, including auto accidents, tractor/trailer collisions, bus accidents, crane mishaps, dump truck incidents, fatalities, and motor vehicle accidents (MVA)
Provide comprehensive legal counsel and defense strategies to individuals, businesses, and insurance companies operating within the transportation/trucking industry
Conduct thorough investigations into accidents, analyze evidence, asses liability, and develop defense strategies tailored to each case's unique circumstances
Represent clients in negotiations, mediation, and court proceedings
Conduct legal research and provide legal analysis on various issues related to transportation and personal injury law
Draft pleadings, motions, and discovery requests
Prepare for and attend depositions, hearings, and trials
Communicate with clients, opposing counsel, and court personnel
Participate in case strategy discussions and negotiations
Manage case files and maintain accurate and organized records
Attend continuing legal education courses to stay current on legal developments in Medical Malpractice
Experience
Juris Doctor degree from an accredited law school
Admission to the State Bar of New Mexico
The ideal candidate will have a minimum of 3 years of experience in litigation/insurance defense
Strong research and writing skills
Excellent oral communication and negotiation skills
Ability to work independently and as part of a team
Strong organizational and time management skills
Willingness to travel when necessary
Draft pleadings, motions, and discovery requests
Prepare for and attend depositions, hearings, and trials
Communicate with clients, opposing counsel, and court personnel
Participate in case strategy discussions and negotiations
Manage case files and maintain accurate and organized records
Attend continuing legal education courses to stay current on legal developments in medical malpractice
Benefits
Competitive quarterly bonus plan based on monthly billables - ability to earn an additional $52k annually
Full suite of health/dental/vision benefits that go into effect the 1st of the month after an employee starts with the firm
10 company holidays + 4 early release days
Hybrid schedule (3 days/week in office, 2 days/week at home)
401k + firm match based on previous year revenue. In 2024 we matched up to 6%
Employee referral bonus ($2000 - $4000)
$110,000 - $165,000 a year
Compensation is commensurate with years of experience/bar admittance date
