This advertisement is for a Clinical Counselor position in the ISDUT/Complex Care Program located at the following:
Bakersfield, Kern County
Rancho Cucamonga, San Bernardino County
Under the general direction of Supervising Psychiatric Social Worker, the Clinical Counselor (CC) works in Medical Services, Integrated Care & Complex Patient Populations Division. The CC applies counseling interventions and psychotherapeutic techniques within the scope of applicable Business and Professions Code(s) and license, for the purpose of treating incarcerated individuals with Substance Use Disorder (SUD) and the effectiveness of preventative skills and behaviors developed for wellness. The CC performs assessments that assist with and facilitate transitional care planning and coordination that links incarcerated patients with resources.
Minimum Qualifications
Education: Possession of a master's or doctoral degree in counseling or psychotherapy that meets the requirements stipulated in Business and Professional Code 4999.32.
Possession of a valid license as a Licensed Professional Clinical Counselor issued by the California Board of Behavioral Science. Applicants who do not qualify for licensure by the California Board of Behavioral Science may be admitted into the examination and may be appointed but must secure a valid license within four years of appointment; however, an individual can be employed only to the extent necessary to be eligible for licensure plus one year.
Individuals who are eligible for a Training and Development assignment may also be considered for this position(s).
