Support ReStore operations by assisting customers and donors with loading and unloading merchandise, maintaining an organized donation dock and back room, and efficiently moving products to and from the sales floor. Essential Functions
Provide outstanding customer and donor service Safely and promptly load and unload donated and purchased merchandise Load and unload ReStore trucks as needed Move merchandise safely between the donation area, warehouse, and sales floor Maintain organization and cleanliness of the donation dock and back room Communicate donation acceptance guidelines and redirect donors when items cannot be accepted Demonstrate knowledge of ReStore products, services, and customer policies Work effectively with staff, volunteers, and customers as part of a team Operate a forklift as required (training provided if needed) Maintain a positive, respectful, and professional demeanor at all times Demonstrate initiative and reliability Maintain regular and punctual attendance and adhere to assigned schedule Represent Habitat Charlotte Region in a positive and professional manner Maintain a neat, ReStore-appropriate appearance Follow Habitat's Code of Conduct and all organizational policies Maintain dependable transportation to and from work Perform other Habitat Charlotte Region–related duties as assigned by the supervisor Qualifications Reliable transportation to and from work This position requires working indoors in a retail setting and outdoors in all types of weather, as well as warehouse/dock setting which may or may not be climate controlled. Physical Demands Ability to move and lift 50 lbs. unassisted Ability to move and lift at least 75 lbs. with assistance Ability to work outdoors in all climates Ability to obtain Forklift Certification and operate a forklift on a regular basis Ability to climb steps to Forklift cab Ability to move and stand for extended periods of time Estimated Time Commitment: 20 - 25 hours/week, including weekends and periodic holidays. Shifts will be scheduled depending on the needs of the store. Monday-Saturday rotating schedule, with shifts beginning as early as 8:30AM and ending as late as 7PM. Level of Authority: Requires minimal supervision Reports to Backroom Supervisor Habitat for Humanity of the Charlotte Region is an Equal Opportunity Employer and a drug-free workplace.
