Job Summary

Co-operative mental health practice is seeking a Bilingual Behavioral Health Receptionist to join our provider team. This role will serve as the first point of contact for patients and visitors while providing front desk support and ensuring client care coordination among our in-house providers and other relevant offices and institutions. Your bilingual skills will facilitate effective communication with diverse patient populations, helping to create a welcoming and inclusive environment. This position is responsible for managing appointments, verifying insurance upon initiating intake process, and supporting clinical staff with administrative tasks. Your thoughtful approach and attention to detail will help foster positive patient experiences and streamline clinic workflows.

Duties

  • Greet patients and visitors warmly, providing excellent customer service in both English and Spanish
  • Schedule appointments accurately using our electronic health record (EHR) system
  • Verify insurance coverage, including Medicare and Medicaid, ensuring all documentation complies with HIPAA regulations
  • Collect patient information, update medical records, and review documentation for accuracy and completeness
  • Manage reception with professional phone etiquette, directing calls efficiently and responding to inquiries promptly
  • Assist with intake procedures, and explaining clinic policies to patients
  • Support clinical staff by facilitating communication between patients and providers

Skills

  • Bilingual fluency in English and another language; excellent verbal and excellent written communication skills in both languages - 5% percent differential
  • Experience with EMR/EHR systems
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel) for documentation review and administrative support tasks
  • Knowledge of HIPAA regulations to ensure patient confidentiality and data security at all times
  • Prior clinic or medical office experience with front desk responsibilities including appointment scheduling and insurance verification a plus
  • Excellent organizational skills with the ability to handle multiple tasks efficiently
  • Strong customer service orientation combined with professional phone etiquette and clerical skills

Pay: $ $22.00 per hour

Expected hours: 40.0 per week
