Base Pay Range $23.00/hr – $27.00/hr

Position Description Flynn Panera is a franchisee of Panera Bread that operates upscale cafes featuring baked breads, soups, salads, sandwiches, and specialty espresso beverages. As Assistant Manager, you will support General Managers and Area Directors in overseeing daily operations, ensuring high standards of cleanliness, food quality, safety, and customer service. The role requires strong leadership, coaching, and the ability to manage a team of associates in a fast‑paced environment.

Responsibilities

Lead and coach team members, fostering productivity, customer service excellence, and a positive work environment.

Acknowledge the customer in a timely manner and greet them personally during service.

Cooperate with the General Manager or Area Director when required.

Assist the area manager(s) with labor forecasting and scheduling.

Keep inventory and supplies well stocked.

Assist in the open and close procedures.

Assist in building a happy team.

Assist in setting up a beverage station.

Maintain the bakery station for sandwich service or other.

Signaturing

is also essential.

Ensure the café is clean, organized, and stocked with supplies.

Assist with training new staff and provide on‑the‑job coaching and feedback.

Assist in ensuring compliance to all food safety and sanitation regulations.

Facilitate a safe working environment for associates and customers.

Develop team members and schedule training to increase performance and engagement.

Assist or manage critical situations such as freeze‑out or customer complaints.

Conduct performance reviews and coach associates on both short‑ and long‑term improvement plans.

Assist in the development of the front‑of‑house schedule to maximize productivity.

Maintain the assigned shift for the team and ensure guests remain satisfied.

Support the general manager with daily hospitality tasks.

Physical Standards

Must be able to stand and walk for up to ten (10) hours in a fast‑paced environment.

Must be able to safely lift up to 50 pounds in weight.

Must read and write to facilitate communication.

Must have hand and finger dexterity for small tools and equipment.

Education and Experience

At least 2–3 years of hospitality management experience.

A degree or equivalent experience in hospitality, hotel, or restaurant management is preferred.

Food management certifications are a plus.

Must possess a strong “Run it Like You Own It” mentality and drive for results.

Compensation Hourly Assistant Manager Compensation Range: $23.00 – $27.00 per hour; Plus monthly profit share, 5 hours of overtime each week.
