Key Responsibilities

Maintain accurate and timely financial records in accordance with nonprofit accounting standards and GAAP.

Manage accounts payable, accounts receivable, and expense tracking ensuring accuracy and compliance with internal controls.

Prepare monthly bank reconciliations and financial statements for leadership to review on a timely basis.

Support budgeting, monitoring, and forecasting processes.

Monitor restricted and unrestricted funds ensuring compliance with donor intent; assist with grant reporting and fund tracking.

Process payroll in coordination with DFF payroll service provider.

Assist with annual audit preparation and required tax filings including Form 990.

Maintain documentation of financial policies, procedures, and internal controls.

Assist the Executive Director with ad‑hoc financial analysis and reporting needs.

Ensure compliance with organizational policies and donor requirements.

Qualifications

Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field required.

Minimum of 3 years of accounting experience; nonprofit accounting experience preferred.

Demonstrated understanding of restricted funds and grant accounting.

Proficiency with QuickBooks Online.

Proficient in Excel/Google Sheets and general financial reporting tools.

Exceptional attention to detail with strong organizational and communication skills.

Ability to work independently, manage multiple priorities, and consistently meet deadlines.

Preferred Skills

Experience supporting audits and Form 990 preparation.

Knowledge of federal and state compliance for nonprofit organizations.

Ability to present financial information clearly to non‑financial audiences.
