Position Summary What you’ll do at Sam’s Club includes a mix of operational, inventory, customer service, and leadership tasks that keep our club moving efficiently and our members satisfied.

Responsibilities

Comply with company policies, procedures and standards of ethics and integrity, implementing associated action plans and using the Open Door Policy.

Operate forklifts following company standards and guidelines, safely picking up, moving, placing and positioning merchandise pallets.

Complete work assignments and priorities using policies, data and resources; collaborate with managers, co‑workers, customers and other partners; identify priorities, deadlines and expectations; carry out tasks; communicate progress and information; recommend improvement opportunities; and adapt to and learn from change.

Receive, stock and organize merchandise and supplies from distribution centers and suppliers, managing inventory flow and following company policies for equipment use, merchandising, inventory exceptions and documentation.

Provide member service by acknowledging members, identifying member needs, providing guidance on self‑service technology, assisting with purchasing decisions, locating merchandise, resolving issues and promoting the company’s products and services.

Maintain facility safety, conducting safety sweeps, following forklift spotting procedures, hazardous material handling and disposal procedures, steel standard guidelines and reporting unsafe situations to management.

Maintain the sales floor and merchandising presentation, properly zoning, stocking, rotating merchandise, removing damaged or out‑of‑date goods, setting up and cleaning product displays, maintaining modular integrity, ensuring promotional and seasonal merchandise is prominently displayed, processing defective merchandise and adhering to sanitation and food safety regulations.

Ensure club pick‑up orders are filled, assisting with picking, staging and auditing orders within acceptable timeframes.

Handle, move and display goods safely, track inventory, maintain in‑stock levels, control shrinkage and report poor inventory practices and low in‑stock levels.

Operate and maintain forklifts safely, reporting unsafe conditions or practices and notifying management when forklifts are out of order.

Proactively identify customers needing help, engage them, assist with technology services, model and help others with technology services, identify shrink opportunities, maintain equipment and promptly fix problems.

Compensation The hourly wage range for this position is $20.00 to $28.00. The actual hourly rate will equal or exceed the required minimum wage applicable to the job location.

Additional compensation in the form of premiums may be paid in amounts ranging from $0.35 per hour to $3.00 per hour in specific circumstances. Premiums may be based on schedule, facility, season or specific work performed. Multiple premiums may apply if applicable criteria are met.

Minimum Qualifications

90 days of prior experience with forklift certification.

Ability to safely utilize pallet jacks.

Must be 18 years of age or older.

Preferred Qualifications

Customer Service Experience.

Retail Experience.

Experience supervising a team.
