POSITION SUMMARY Under the supervision of the Facilities Director, the Part Time (20 hours per week) Facilities Technician is responsible for the daily maintenance and operation of the facility & grounds. A motivated self-starter who works independently and in a team setting to perform preventative maintenance and repairs while keeping all tools, materials, inventory and spaces neatly organized and within OSHA guidelines.
Preventative Maintenance
Inspection of fire extinguishers and emergency lighting.
Clearing of roof drains, gutters and retention basin inlet grates.
Replace HVAC filters and belts.
Service door hardware and locks.
Service drains.
Troubleshoot and Repair
Replace light bulbs, ballasts, outlets and switches.
Sheetrock repair and painting.
Replace ceiling tiles.
Replace showerheads, shower cartridges and flush valves.
Repair door locks, hinges, panic bars, closures and ADA accessible automatic entry doors.
Flooring repairs and cove base replacement.
Roof repairs.
Additional Responsibilities
Prioritize and handle a wide variety of work orders, preventative maintenance tasks and emergency repair requests.
Interact with staff, members, children, special populations and the elderly in a positive manner at all times.
React to building and health related emergencies.
Follow organizational policies & procedures.
Requirements
HS Graduate or equivalent is required.
A minimum of five (5) years of experience in one or more of the skilled trades, OR any equivalent combination of relevant education and experience is required.
Knowledge of basic carpentry, electric, plumbing, HVAC and effective safety practices.
Ability to prioritize and handle a wide variety of Work Orders, Preventative Maintenance Tasks and Emergency Repair requests.
Availability to work a flexible schedule that will include 4 days during the week and half day Saturday.
Knowledge, skills and ability to work and interact effectively in a team setting with minimum supervision.
Possesses computer/software skills & knowledge (Word, internet-based programs, etc.).
Ability to lift up to 50lbs.
Certified Pool Operator (CPO) certification a plus.
Current CPR/AED and First Aid certification, or obtain within 90 days of hire.
Current Blood borne Pathogens certification.
YMCA Child Abuse Prevention Training within 30 days of hire.
YMCA New Staff Orientation Training within 90 days of hire.
