HaloMD specializes in Independent Dispute Resolution (IDR) through The No Surprises Act and state regulations for out-of-network healthcare providers, leveraging advanced technology and deep industry expertise to secure optimized reimbursements. Our team is growing, and we are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Accounts Receivable (AR) Manager to lead and oversee all aspects of the company's accounts receivable processes.
Job Summary Reporting to VP, Controller, the Accounts Receivable Manager is responsible for managing the AR team, implementing and refining collection strategies, ensuring compliance with accounting policies, and optimizing cash flow through timely and accurate invoicing and collections. This position will partner closely with Revenue Cycle, Legal, and Compliance teams to drive financial clarity, reporting accuracy, and efficient dispute resolution.
Key Responsibilities
Manage Invoicing & Collections: Ensure accurate billing and timely collection of outstanding payments
Lead AR Team: Supervise and support AR staff, set performance goals, and foster accountability
Monitor Cash Flow: Track receivables, manage aging reports, and support cash forecasting
Ensure Compliance: Maintain adherence to financial policies, internal controls, and accounting standards
Resolve Disputes: Work with internal teams and customers to resolve billing or payment issues
Optimize Processes: Identify opportunities to streamline and automate AR processes to improve efficiency
Develop, implement, and continuously improve AR policies, procedures, and internal controls to enhance efficiency and accuracy
Monitor AR aging reports and proactively manage overdue accounts and collection efforts
Collaborate with cross-functional teams (e.g., Sales, Customer Service, and Accounting) to resolve billing discrepancies and customer issues
Analyze trends in receivables and cash flow, providing regular reports and forecasts to senior leadership
Ensure compliance with company policies, GAAP, and relevant regulatory requirements
Support month-end and year-end closing activities related to revenue and receivables
Partner with external auditors during audits, providing documentation and support for AR-related inquiries
Identify opportunities for automation and systems improvements within the AR function
Skills & Experience Needed
Leadership and team management
Strong understanding of accounting principles (especially revenue recognition)
Data analysis and reporting
Communication and negotiation
ERP/AR software proficiency (e.g., Sage Intacct)
Qualifications Required
Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field
5+ years of experience in accounts receivable, with at least 2+ years in a supervisory or managerial role
Strong knowledge of accounting principles and AR best practices
Experience with ERP/accounting systems and proficiency in Microsoft Excel
Excellent leadership, organizational, and communication skills
Proven ability to analyze data, generate reports, and provide actionable insights
Preferred
Experience in a healthcare provider, payer, or medical billing organization
Familiarity with AR automation tools or platforms
CPA or CMA designation is a plus
Specialized Knowledge
Strong analytical skills and ability to work independently
Self-starter with solid organizational skills and ability to effectively manage multiple priorities or reprioritization of projects
Excellent communication skills both verbally and written
