The Security Manager Position The role is a multi-faceted position that includes Security Management and International Security responsibilities for HII Mission Technologies Global Security (GS) Business Group. It is based at either Virginia Beach or Newport News, VA. The position requires in-depth knowledge of Industrial and Program Security and the ability to analyze security requirements and communicate with senior leadership and government customers.
Responsibilities
Lead the GS security team to administer the overall HII Mission Technologies security program and provide guidance to first line managers and other industrial security personnel.
Implement policy and procedures for HII Mission Technologies international security operations. Knowledge of the DISP process is a plus.
Administer and coordinate DoD, DoE, and other Industrial Security Programs to ensure compliance with government and company policies.
Develop and administer security programs and procedures for classified or proprietary materials, documents, and equipment in coordination with government agencies and management.
Implement and enforce 32‑CFR Part 117 and SEAD 3 reporting requirements.
Review and implement federal security regulations that apply to company operations.
Obtain rulings, approvals, interpretations, and acceptable deviations for compliance from government agencies.
Assist in preparing and reviewing manuals such as SOPs, SPPs, ITPs, EAPs and OPSEC for onsite facility requirements or program implementation.
Establish procedures for record keeping, handling, storing, and granting personnel and visitor access to restricted records and materials.
Conduct security education classes, incoming/outgoing facility inspections, and security audits to ensure 100% annual compliance.
Perform security self‑inspections, physical security surveys, and threat/vulnerability assessments, ensuring applicable facilities comply with annual requirements.
Maintain accuracy of the security clearance database and document control using the Access Commander database.
Interface with government customers on security‑related issues.
Safeguard classified information entrusted to the company as outlined in federal controlling instructions.
Prepare, manage and interface with the Defense Counterintelligence Security Agency (DCSA) during audits.
Use and apply US Government online programs such as NBIS, eAPP, DISS, and NISS.
DCSA FSO Certification for Possessing Facilities is required.
Requirements
8 years of relevant progressive experience with a bachelor's degree in a related field, or 6 years with a master's degree, supporting the Department of Defense or the Intelligence Community with knowledge of 32 CFR, ICDs, and DoDM manuals including but not limited to 5205.07.
Ability to prioritize tasks and handle multiple assignments concurrently.
Experience leading a team of security professionals including managers, FSO's, AFSO's, and CPSO's.
Work well in a team environment with minimal supervision, managing daily responsibilities under tight deadlines.
Excellent speaking, writing, organization, and customer service skills, and ability to speak to senior leaders at all levels.
Current, in‑scope, CV enrolled Top‑Secret clearance with current SCI eligibility.
DCSA FSO Certification for Possessing Facilities is required.
Preferred Requirements
Experience supporting the Department of Defense or the Intelligence Community with knowledge of 32 CFR, ICDs, and DoDM manuals including but not limited to 5205.07.
Experience implementing international security operations.
Knowledge of the DISP process is a plus.
Physical Requirements Job Performance may require lifting and moving of furniture, supplies and equipment.
