Key Responsibilities
Develop and maintain standard costs for raw materials, labor, and manufacturing overhead.
Conduct detailed variance analysis (material, labor, overhead) and provide actionable insights to management.
Ensure accurate valuation and reconciliation of inventory (raw materials, WIP, finished goods).
Prepare and analyze periodic cost reports, focusing on production costs, profitability, and cost trends.
Assist in the annual budgeting and forecasting process, specifically for manufacturing costs and gross margins.
Identify and recommend cost reduction opportunities and efficiency improvements within manufacturing operations.
Analyze capital expenditure requests, conduct post-implementation reviews, and assess ROI for new equipment or processes.
Recommended Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
3-5 years of cost accounting experience, preferably in a manufacturing environment.
Proficiency in ERP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle) and advanced Microsoft Excel.
Strong understanding of standard costing, variance analysis, and inventory valuation methods.
Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail.
Knowledge of GAAP and IFRS as they relate to cost accounting.
Bonus Qualifications
Experience with enterprise resource planning (ERP) systems such as SAP, Oracle, or Microsoft Dynamics 365.
Exposure to Lean manufacturing principles, Six Sigma, or other continuous improvement methodologies.
Proficiency in advanced Excel functions, Power Query, or data visualization tools like Power BI or Tableau.
CMA or CPA certification, or actively pursuing.
