About the role
Mater is seeking a highly organised and proactive Senior Administrative Officer to join the Mater Research Executive Team in South Brisbane. This full-time, permanent position offers an exciting opportunity to provide high-level administrative and operational support to the Directors of Biomedical and Clinical Research, helping to drive the seamless communication and efficient functioning of a leading medical research institute. Salary range: $41.47 - $44.69 per hour plus superannuation and access to not-for-profit salary packaging up to $15,900 + access to many staff benefits! What you’ll be doing You will manage complex calendars, coordinate meetings and events, and prepare professional reports and correspondence to support the Research Executive Team. Acting as a key contact point, you will ensure smooth communication across internal teams and external partners. You’ll also support committee activities and contribute to improving office processes, playing a pivotal role in the operational success of Mater Research.
About you To be considered successful within this position you should have:
Undergraduate degree or equivalent relevant experience
Minimum five years’ experience providing executive-level support in corporate or academic settings
Advanced computer skills, including Microsoft Office Suite, Adobe, and a willingness to adopt AI tools for efficiency
Exceptional written communication, proofreading, and document formatting skills (experience with platforms like Canva is a plus)
Strong organisational, prioritisation, and time management abilities with a proactive approach to problem-solving
Professional, discreet, and confident in representing senior leaders across all levels
Demonstrated interpersonal skills with a collaborative and team-focused mindset
