$72,000 - $111,000 depending on experience

Key Responsibilities

Design, develop, and optimize manufacturing tooling, fixtures, and molds.

Oversee the maintenance, repair, and modification of existing production tooling.

Diagnose and troubleshoot tooling-related issues to minimize production downtime.

Collaborate with design, production, and quality teams to ensure tooling meets specifications.

Evaluate and implement new tooling technologies and materials for process improvement.

Manage tooling specifications, procurement, and vendor relationships.

Conduct tool trials and validations to ensure performance and quality standards are met.

Recommended Qualifications

Proficiency in CAD/CAM software (e.g., SolidWorks, AutoCAD, Mastercam) for tool design and manufacturing.

Strong understanding of various manufacturing processes (e.g., CNC machining, injection molding, stamping, die casting).

Expertise in tool design principles, DFM (Design for Manufacturability), and GD&T.

Proven ability to troubleshoot, diagnose, and resolve tooling performance issues.

Knowledge of materials science, specifically tool steels, carbides, and relevant engineering plastics.

Bonus Qualifications

Experience with additive manufacturing (3D printing) for tooling or prototyping.

Certification in Lean Manufacturing or Six Sigma methodologies.

Proficiency with advanced FEA or mold flow simulation software.

Demonstrated project management skills for tooling development lifecycle.
