Position Summary
The HR Generalist & Project Manager is a hybrid role responsible for delivering core human resources support while also leading and coordinating cross‑functional projects that support organizational growth, integration, and operational execution.
This role will primarily support an IT services company with an employee population of approximately
45–50 employees . This position is designed to balance ongoing HR needs with project‑based work involving internal leadership and external stakeholders, including finance and operations.
The ideal candidate is comfortable operating in a lean environment, working directly with executives, managing ambiguity, and driving projects forward from concept through completion.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities Human Resources (Core Responsibilities) Administer end‑to‑end HR operations including:
Payroll coordination and administration
Employee onboarding and offboarding
HR compliance (federal, state, and local)
Employee records management and HRIS oversight
Ensure compliance with applicable employment laws, including but not limited to:
FLSA, FMLA, ADA, Title VII
Partner with leadership on:
Talent management and workforce planning
Incentive and compensation administration
Serve as a primary point of contact for employee HR questions, escalating complex matters as needed.
Coordinate with external vendors and advisors (e.g., payroll providers, benefits brokers, legal counsel).
Project Management & Special Projects Lead and coordinate cross‑functional projects related to:
Organizational integrations
Operational improvements
Act as a project liaison between executives, internal teams, and external partners (including large financial institutions and advisory firms).
Define project scope, timelines, deliverables, and accountability.
Track progress, manage dependencies, and proactively resolve obstacles.
Prepare project updates, documentation, and executive‑level summaries.
Support ad‑hoc strategic initiatives as business needs evolve.
Required Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, Management, or a related field (or equivalent practical experience).
5+ years of progressive experience in HR Generalist, HR Operations, or People Operations roles.
Demonstrated experience managing projects or initiatives beyond traditional HR functions.
Strong working knowledge of U.S. employment laws and HR best practices.
Experience working with executive leadership and external stakeholders.
High level of discretion, professionalism, and sound judgment.
Preferred Qualifications
HR certification (PHR, SHRM‑CP, or similar).
Experience supporting multi‑entity or multi‑location organizations.
Prior involvement in mergers, integrations, or organizational transitions.
Experience in professional services, technology, or IT services environments.
Work Environment & Physical Demands
This role is primarily performed in an office environment with regular use of computers, phones, and standard office equipment.
Must be able to sit, stand, and work at a computer for extended periods.
Occasional travel between company locations or to meetings may be required.
