Overview
This part-time position (typically 20 or fewer hours per week) will assist and support the ESC Region 12 Upward Bound Program. This position is on an as-needed basis, and applications will be reviewed for experience. This is an excellent opportunity for a college student to gain experience in an educational environment, office operations, and work with well-respected teams that provide professional development training to our schools. Responsibilities
Assistthe Upward Bound Site Coordinators Tutor high school students in appropriate academic disciplines and assist students with high school and program assignments and projects. Develop and maintain professional communication between staff and students. Act as a positive role model, reflecting the appropriate social, academic, and interpersonal skills required for high school and college success. Ensure that students exhibit appropriate behavior during programming events Abide by theESC Region 12 safety guidelines Support ESC Region 12 functions and core values Education/Certification
High School/Trade School degree (Tutor) 2 years college preferred (Tutor) Office work experience, preferred (Tutor) Bachelors Degree in Education (Instructor) Master's degree in Educator preferred (Instructor) Special Knowledge/Skills
Knowledgein STAAR, SAT, ACT, TSIA, and TEKS Assessments Knowledgein the following content areas: ELA, Social Studies, Math and/or Science Working Conditions
Manage tasks and work cooperatively with others Maintain a calm attitude in demanding situations Make changes and adapt to varying responsibilities on an ongoing basis Work with frequent interruptions, tight deadlines, and limited office space Exhibit self-control and work cooperatively with others Security Requirements
