Location: Administration office, Dothan, AL

Work Hours: Monday – Thursday 8:00–5:30 pm; Friday 8:00–12:00 pm

Position Summary / Function Responsible for managing the day‑to‑day operations of the Accounting Business Office, including all accounting, finance, and general ledger functions. Supervises Accounting Manager and Senior Accounting Specialist. Travel may be required within and beyond the five‑county catchment area.

Primary Responsibilities

Manage daily operations of the Business Office, including:

Payroll, Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable

Fixed Assets, General Ledger Closeout, Consumer Funds Management

Subsidiary Company Accounting, Contract and Cash Management

Supervise and train Accounting staff; ensure adherence to schedules and procedures.

Design, implement, and monitor internal controls and financial compliance with contracts.

Manage month‑end close and prepare consolidated, subsidiary, and program‑specific financial reports.

Provide monthly financial analysis to Senior Management and Executive Staff.

Coordinate audits and prepare schedules and documentation for independent auditors.

Participate in annual budget preparation and ongoing budget‑to‑actual monitoring.

Execute other duties as directed by the Chief Financial Officer or Senior Management.

Maintain timely, accurate manual billing of contracts and review supporting documentation.

Requirements

Bachelor’s degree in Business or Accounting plus five years of senior‑level finance or accounting experience.

Experience reporting financial statements under Governmental Accounting Standards.

Valid driver’s license with good MVR.

No alcohol/drug‑related misdemeanors or felonies in the past three years.

Preferred Requirements

Master’s degree in Business or Accounting.

Two or more years in mental health or primary health service industry.

Four or more years of management/supervisory experience.

Certified Public Accountant designation.

Experience managing external audits.
