Virtual Learning Assistant, Unbound Academy (Remote) - $40,000/year USD
This role centers on helping students feel confident, engaged, and prepared to learn—without the responsibility of designing lessons or evaluating performance.
Unbound Academy operates as a fully virtual, tuition‑free charter school that reimagines education by replacing traditional worksheets with experiential learning and prioritizing personal development. In this role, you will maintain momentum and ensure seamless operations. You’ll guide students through transitions, facilitate participation in small group settings, and provide encouragement when challenges arise. While you won’t deliver academic instruction, your presence will be critical to the success of every session.
Qualifications: Experience leading youth in camps, athletics, tutoring, or community programs, and the ability to create an intentional, engaging, and supportive school experience.

Facilitating live virtual workshops by coordinating breakout rooms, managing transitions, and overseeing group activities
Encouraging student participation and maintaining motivation through chat interactions, public recognition, and one‑on‑one outreach
Ensuring students remain engaged, self‑assured, and socially connected throughout their learning sessions
Providing operational support to lead educators to ensure workshops proceed without disruption
Serving as a positive cultural presence and reliable mentor within student clubs and life‑skills programming
What You Won’t Be Doing
Delivering academic instruction or teaching subject‑matter content
Developing lesson plans or evaluating student work
Building curriculum or independently facilitating workshops
Observing passively—this role requires active involvement and sustained energy
Virtual Learning Assistant Key Responsibilities Facilitate engaging, virtual learning environments by ensuring students remain focused, well‑organized, and motivated across all workshop sessions.
Basic Requirements
Willing to work 8 am – 5 pm M‑F US Mountain Time (UTC‑7)
At least 3 years of experience mentoring, coaching, tutoring, or leading youth
Educational background in US, Canadian, or UK school systems (K‑16) – must have attended school in one of these countries (current location can be anywhere)
Strong communication skills and high comfort with digital platforms
