Join the role of Online Youth Mentor at Unbound Academy, a fully virtual, tuition‑free charter school that uses experiential learning and AI to empower students in grades 4‑8. The position is remote and full‑time, requiring an 8am‑5pm schedule (US Mountain Time, UTC‑7).

Your responsibility is to maintain momentum and ensure seamless execution. You'll guide students through transitions, facilitate engagement in small group settings, and provide encouragement when learners hit a wall. Content delivery isn’t your focus—but you’ll be central to ensuring every session feels effortless and impactful.
What You Will Be Doing
Facilitating live virtual workshops by coordinating breakout rooms, transitions, and collaborative activities.
Encouraging student involvement through chat interactions, affirmations, and one‑on‑one touchpoints.
Ensuring children remain engaged, confident, and connected throughout their learning experience.
Supporting lead educators with operational details that enable workshops to proceed seamlessly.
Serving as a culture champion and reliable presence across student clubs and life‑skills programming.
What You Won’t Be Doing
Delivering academic instruction or teaching subject‑specific content.
Developing lesson plans or evaluating student assignments.
Building curriculum or facilitating workshops independently.
Observing passively—this role demands active involvement and high energy.
Online Youth Mentor Key Responsibilities Facilitate dynamic, virtual learning environments by ensuring students remain engaged, organized, and motivated across all workshop sessions.
Basic Requirements
Available to work 8am – 5pm Monday through Friday, US Mountain Time (UTC‑7).
Minimum 3 years of experience mentoring, coaching, tutoring, or working with youth.
Educational history in US, Canadian, or UK school systems (K‑16) – attendance in one of these countries required (current residence may be anywhere).
Excellent communication abilities and strong proficiency with digital tools.
Energetic, student‑centered approach with attention to detail and smooth facilitation.
Nice‑to‑have Requirements
Familiarity with online learning platforms or youth development programs.
Experience in after‑school initiatives, summer camps, or student club leadership.

Working with Us This is a full‑time (40 hours per week), long‑term position. It is immediately available and requires entering into an independent contractor agreement with Crossover as a Contractor of Record. The compensation level for this role is $20 USD/hour, which equates to $40,000 USD/year assuming 40 hours per week and 50 weeks per year. Payment is weekly.
