Overview
Summary of Job Duties: The Police Officer is certified by the State of Arkansas to enforce law and safeguard our campus community. Primary responsibilities include engaging with community members to build positive relationships, addressing community issues, and promoting trust and cooperation; conducting proactive patrols to deter criminal activity and maintain order; enforcing traffic laws, conducting traffic enforcement, and responding to accidents to ensure road safety; responding promptly to emergency calls and incidents to ensure public safety; collaborating with other law enforcement agencies, emergency services, and community organizations to address public safety concerns and implement crime prevention strategies; and maintaining accurate records of incidents, arrests, and activities with detailed reports for documentation and analysis. This position is governed by law enforcement standards, state and federal laws, and agency policy. Regular, reliable, and non-disruptive attendance is an essential job duty, as is the ability to create and maintain collegial working relationships with others. Responsibilities

Conduct proactive patrols in assigned areas to deter criminal activity and maintain order. Enforce traffic laws and regulations; conduct traffic enforcement and respond to accidents to ensure road safety. Respond promptly to emergency calls and incidents, ensuring public safety and providing assistance as needed. Collaborate with other law enforcement agencies, emergency services, and community organizations to address public safety concerns and implement crime prevention strategies. Maintain accurate records of incidents, arrests, and activities; prepare detailed reports for documentation and analysis. Qualifications
Minimum Qualifications: The formal education equivalent of a high school diploma Must possess a valid state motor vehicle operators license Must be a United States Citizen Must be at least 20 years + 6 months of age Per the Commission on Law Enforcement Standards and Training (CLEST) - Rule 1002: Every officer employed by a law enforcement agency must be a citizen of the United States of America or a Marshallese citizen and must be at least twenty-one (21) years of age at the time of hire. Physical Demands of Position: Heavy Work: Exerting up to 100 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 30 pounds of force frequently, and/or up to 10 pounds of force constantly to move objects. The employee is subject to environmental conditions. Activities occur inside and outside and may expose to extreme temperatures, wind, and humidity, and to noise that may require shouting to be heard above ambient noise level. Physical Activities: Constant driving, hearing, manipulating items with fingers, reaching, repetitive motion, sitting, standing, talking, walking; Frequent grasping, kneeling, lifting, pulling, pushing; Occasional climbing, crawling, crouching, feeling, stooping.
