Overview
Process Lead - Level 5 - Assembly, Nights B-Shift at Panasonic Energy Corporation of North America. This role supports production leadership across assembly, machinery, processing, and/or packaging operations, leading by example and mentoring Skilled Machine Technicians (SMTs) under supervision. The position emphasizes driving operational efficiency, hands-on training, continuous improvement, and coordinating production schedules based on material availability, staffing, and output targets. Responsibilities
Lead an assigned team with professionalism and integrity, upholding company policies and safety rules. Coach and motivate team members to achieve a high-performance culture; be flexible with shifts and cross-train across processes. Coordinate production activities and ensure on-time, high-quality output; participate in hands-on training and process improvements. Communicate status and issues to SMTs, supervisors, and cross-functional teams; escalate conflicts as needed. Collaborate with production, engineering, and maintenance to identify and resolve quality issues promptly. Generate and deliver daily end-of-shift reports and operational feedback to SMT team supervisors; maintain records of inspections, quality issues, and deviations. Teach and uphold Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and Standard Work Instructions (SWIs); train SMTs across duties and processes. Operate duties of all SMT levels as needed to meet production schedules; support equipment maintenance and 6S standards across the area. Manage raw materials and ensure adherence to PECNA procedures and general plant policies; maintain area cleanliness and safety. Qualifications
Education
Required: High school diploma, GED, or 2 years of prior experience in the functional area. Preferred: Associate or Bachelor’s degree. Must-haves
4+ years of progressive experience in a fast-paced, high-volume manufacturing environment. Proficient in Microsoft Office and capable with department-specific systems; good English reading/writing/speaking skills. Understanding of 6S and Lean methodologies and alignment with Panasonic’s core principles. Nice-to-haves
8+ years in roles such as Shift Lead or Team Lead. Experience with Manufacturing Execution System (MES), SCADA, SAP, and data visualization tools. Forklift or material handling certifications; Lead Six Sigma Green Belt. Physical Demands
