The City of McKinney Parks & Recreation Department is hosting a hiring event for the Party Host APEX position on Saturday, February 7, 2026. To be considered you must apply for this position and attend the hiring event.

Summary of Position Responsible for creating a welcoming environment for children at pool parties by setting up and hosting events.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
Provide positive and enthusiastic customer service to all party guests.
Prepare rooms for parties by setting out cake, party favors, tableware, balloons, drinks, and food as needed.
Assist guests in serving food and party favors.
Clean up and restock once parties are completed.
Maintain professionalism and adhere to city values and standards.
Attend scheduled employee meetings.
Follow all written standards, policies, procedures, manuals, memos, and oral instructions.
Arrive to work on time as scheduled.
Provide backup support to other Parks & Recreation departments as needed.
Qualifications
Must be at least sixteen (16) years of age.
Some high school education or working toward high school diploma.
Preferred: CPR/AED certification, basic computer and phone skills, related work experience.
Conditions of Employment
Must pass a drug screen and background check.
Physical Demands & Work Environment
Regularly required to sit, stand, walk, and reach.
Must be able to see, speak, and hear.
Regularly required to lift and/or move up to 25 pounds; occasionally up to 50 pounds.
Indoor environment is safe, smoke‑ and drug‑free; outdoor exposure to extreme weather conditions.
