Position Summary We have an exciting opportunity to join our team as an Associate Research Coordinator. In this role, the successful candidate will be responsible for providing moderate to advanced coordination of research studies conducted at NYU Langone Health medical centers, assisting with the recruitment, enrollment, grant submissions, research data collection, and study coordination activities. The candidate will serve as liaison with internal and external funding agencies, ensure the accurate execution of research protocols in accordance with Good Clinical Practices, HIPAA, FDA, and required obligations to research participants, principal investigators, the research team, and sponsors. The Associate will also be trained as a delegate of LiveOnNY to provide on‑site responses and lead family donation conversations.

Job Responsibilities

Human Subjects' Research – Oversee the submission of necessary documents to the NYU Institutional Review Board and other appropriate parties to obtain approval for human subjects research; prepare, audit, and submit monthly enrollment statistics and related information.

Study Regulations – Monitor regulatory status and keep up‑to‑date copies of all relevant documents.

Study Activities – Work with decedents as part of organ transplantation research under supervision; partner with LiveOnNY to educate eligible decision‑makers about donation options.

Informed Consent – Assist with the consent process and ensure patients fully understand study requirements; follow up to remind them of visits and compliance.

Patient Safety – Monitor and report any safety concerns to the principal investigator and project manager.

Data Management – Collect, audit, and abstract patient data for the study, manage database entries, prepare forms and reports, and analyze data for publications.

Study Visits – Conduct study visits, qualitative interviews, and document required information within specified timeframes.

Funding Reports – Prepare funding reports for agencies and identify potential new sponsors.

Decision Making – Evaluate information to make decisions, resolve complex situations, and refer unresolved issues to supervisors.

Special Projects – Participate in projects and perform other duties as required.

Recruitment – Screen potential participants for eligibility and coordinate screening processes with the principal investigator.

Continuous Learning – Engage in ongoing continuing education in all research development areas and promote professional growth.

Reporting & Analysis – Compile data, conduct preliminary analyses, and prepare reports for sponsors and regulatory agencies.

Assistance – Complete protocol‑approved assessments on study subjects where trained.

Minimum Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in life sciences, allied health, or a related discipline.

0–1 year experience or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Effective oral, written, communication, and interpersonal skills.

Ability to work under direction of supervision and operate research equipment.

Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, Access, PowerPoint, Outlook) and internet applications.

Ability to identify, analyze, and solve problems; strong time‑management skills; ability to work well under pressure.

Qualified candidates must be able to effectively communicate with all levels of the organization.

Salary range for this role is $36.43 – $36.43 per hour. Actual salaries depend on factors such as experience, specialty, education, and hospital need.
