Injection Maintenance Technician

Job Summary Maintains all production machinery and mechanical equipment that comprises the total process of producing PET containers, ensuring efficient operation of the machines and facility.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Accountable for all projects, repairs, and/or improvements on the line, including mold changes and preventive maintenance.
Ensure proper and safe operational conditions of all production and related equipment.
Improve the production equipment, utilities, efficiency and reliability.
Recommend, plan, repair, modify, and fabricate any necessary elements following a problem or project that may affect productivity.
Analyze and resolve all issues related to the equipment.
Ensure cleanliness of all equipment and related areas after repairs or PMs.
Assist in updating, developing and improving equipment PM program.
Communicate to the supervisor on the condition of all production equipment.
Assist and train production employees in machine conversions and PMs.
Assist other maintenance employees with repairs, PM, installation, commissioning and testing of equipment.
Assist in maintaining appropriate stock of spare parts, ensuring catalogues are up‑to‑date, parts rooms are organized and kept clean.
Keep all tools in good and safe condition and ensure tools are returned to their appropriate location.
Direct and advise production employees in machine conversion and PMs.
Flexible – overtime and coverage for vacation as needed.
Ensure the HazMat area is kept clean and waste material is properly disposed of.
Ensure the PM cart is stocked and organized.
Perform all duties in a safe and efficient manner.
Shift Maintenance will also have systems room checks, Pressco checks, daily shop housekeeping, and Video Jet daily PMs to perform.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
Ability to organize own work within schedules effectively.
Able to conduct work that brings credit to the incumbent, maintenance department and Amcor.
Provincial/Industrial mechanic certification.
Knowledge of hydraulic and pneumatic systems.
Basic knowledge of electricity and control.
Read, write, speak, and understand English.
Stand and walk on concrete floors for extended periods; take breaks when needed.
Coordinate movements quickly and accurately in a high‑output production area.
Work effectively in a fast‑paced, high‑quality manufacturing environment.
Willing to accept any other duties/changes to position to fit production needs.
Wear required safety equipment and personal protective equipment.
Perform all housekeeping assignments.
Able to help organize and maintain maintenance areas and stock room.
Physical Requirements Regularly required to sit, stand, walk, reach with hands and arms, stoop, kneel, and climb stairs; occasionally lift and/or move up to 75 lbs.
Qualifications
Associate’s degree or equivalent from a two‑year college or technical school; OR five years related experience and/or training; OR equivalent combination of education and experience.
Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or government regulations.
Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals.
Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interests, commissions, proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume.
Ability to solve practical problems and interpret instructions in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
