The Opportunity We are collaborating with manufacturing firms in Rockford that are seeking skilled Welders. Key Responsibilities
Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and welding symbols to determine appropriate welding techniques.
Perform various welding processes (e.g., MIG, TIG, Stick) on different materials according to job specifications.
Inspect completed welds for quality, strength, and conformity to engineering standards and specifications.
Prepare materials for welding, including cutting, grinding, and cleaning surfaces.
Operate and maintain welding equipment, tools, and personal protective equipment (PPE).
Adhere to all safety protocols and procedures to ensure a safe working environment.
Troubleshoot and resolve minor welding equipment issues or adjust parameters as needed.
Recommended Qualifications
Proficiency in multiple welding processes (e.g., MIG, TIG, Stick) relevant to manufacturing materials.
Ability to read and accurately interpret blueprints, schematics, and welding symbols.
Demonstrated understanding and adherence to safety protocols and quality standards in a manufacturing setting.
Relevant welding certification (e.g., AWS D1.1) or equivalent demonstrable skill.
Experience with fabrication, fitting, and grinding of metal components.
Strong attention to detail and ability to perform visual inspections of welds for quality and defects.
Bonus Qualifications
Experience with robotic or automated welding systems.
Additional AWS or ASME certifications (e.g., specific materials like aluminum/stainless steel).
Proficiency in interpreting complex blueprints, schematics, and weld specifications.
Ability to perform basic maintenance and troubleshooting on welding equipment.
