Job Description PURPOSE: As a Machine Operator, you will remove product from the production line, inspect it to the customer’s specifications and pack into designated cartons.
Responsibilities
Adhere to safety policies and procedures and wear mandatory PPE in production areas.
Review production orders and report any discrepancies in product specifications to the line foreman.
Remove finished product from winders and place it on scales to verify weight; band cartons or product to skid for shipment.
Place identification labels on product or skids and keep records or generate tally sheets; comply with established packing plans and procedures.
Ensure that quality is in accordance with work order specifications.
Maintain personal and overall safety, quality of packaging, careful damage‑free handling, and housekeeping.
Execute applicable Environmental Health & Safety programs to provide a safe and clean workplace.
Qualifications
High school diploma or GED; previous manufacturing experience is a plus.
Capable of working in a production environment, recognizing various sounds and alarms.
Able to monitor the quality of machine output and communicate with co‑workers about issues and activities.
Proficient in functional mathematics (addition, subtraction, multiplication, division) and able to read tape measures accurately.
Physically capable of repetitive lifting and handling tasks (average of 30 lbs up to 65 lbs at times), as well as climbing and descending stairs up to 50–65 feet.
Physical Demands The employee must regularly engage in moderate to high‑speed production, lift up to 30 lbs routinely and up to 65 lbs occasionally, pull and drag flat sheets of plastic, climb or descend stairs to tower areas, operate roll carts and lifting equipment, and stand for approximately 10 hours with frequent walking and manual dexterity requirements.
Safety Adhere to safety policies and procedures, wear mandatory PPE, inspect the production area for tripping hazards and equipment safeguards, and maintain a clean work environment.
